I have merely had the twenty hour maintenance performed on my new Yamaha seventy engine.

The boat is a 20 SV, with 3 round gauges: Trim, RPM/Hours and Fuel.

The maintenance indicator started flashing at 20 hours. It looks like an hourglass.
How is it reset?

I don't believe that is a maintenance indicator. Information technology indicates that the 60 minutes meter is clocking the run time of the motor.

It is indeed an hour meter. The maintenance indicator is the flashing hourglass to the left of the hours.
The hourglass started flashing at xx hours; that's the first maintenance interval.

I found a YouTube video showing how to do the oil and lower unit fluid changes. The tech connected what appeared to be a maintenance terminal. (I can't find that video again.) The engine computer probably tracks the hours and sets a signal to the hr meter to brainstorm the flashing. I have the Yamaha owner'due south manual. It does not mention the instruments supplied past Bennington. There is a round Yamaha instrument. There is a sequence on that i to reset the maintenance required bulletin. That instrument has two push buttons.

Are y'all referring to a Bennington guess or Yamaha guess? I have the Yam 6y8 round gauges and can help on that - it's a sequence of holding down a push (mode?) while engine off but ACC on. Go to the maintenance 60 minutes selection and reset the hours to aught.

Video below sort of butchers the sequence simply gives you the idea. Actual steps are in the Yamaha manual.

If it'due south a non-Yamaha gauge perhaps reach out to Bennington direct or your dealer.

Information technology'southward a Bennington guess. I found the video that you've linked hither. There are no buttons on this gauge.

I had a telephone phone call with the service managing director at the selling dealer. He doesn't know. They sell many makes and models. He'southward probably non up to engagement on every particular. The mechanic who did the oil change is supposed to phone call me with more than data. He'southward part of a mobile service company that comes to the gunkhole.

I don't have a trailer, so I can't hands accept it somewhere. Also, many boat dealers here in FL are not on the water. That's sort of an odd situation. They finish upward trailering the boat to a launch indicate.

I would think the gauge is not a Bennington manufactured gauge, merely some Faria type that has a Bennington faceplate slapped on it. Maybe check the search function here or try looking on the dorsum of the estimate itself to meet what manufacturer is stamped on it.

Here is a Faria model that has reset instrux.
